Application of D-Dimer in COVID-19 patients:

COVID-19 is a thrombotic disease induced by immune disorders, with diffuse inflammatory reactions and microthrombosis in the lungs. It has been reported that over 20% of COVID-19 inpatients experience VTE.

1.The D-Dimer level at admission can independently predict the in-hospital mortality rate of patients and screen out potential high-risk patients. Currently, D-dimer has become one of the key screening programs for COVID19 patients on admission globally.

2.D-Dimer can be used to guide COVID-19 patients on whether to use heparin anticoagulant therapy. According to reports, initiating heparin anticoagulation can significantly improve the prognosis of patients with an upper limit of 6-7 times the reference range of D-Dimer2.

3. Dynamic monitoring of D-Dimer can be used to evaluate the occurrence of VTE in COVID-19 patients.

4.D-Dimer monitoring can be used to evaluate the prognosis of COVID-19.

5.D-Dimer monitoring, can D-Dimer provide some reference information when facing disease treatment choices? There are multiple clinical trials being observed abroad.

In summary, D-Dimer detection is no longer limited to traditional applications such as VTE exclusion diagnosis and DIC detection. D-Dimer plays an important role in disease prediction, prognosis, oral anticoagulant use, and COVID-19. With the continuous deepening of research, the application of D-Dimer will become increasingly widespread and will open another chapter in its application.
