Symptoms of Vascular Embolism

Physical diseases should be paid great attention by us. Many people do not know much about the disease of arterial embolism. In fact, the so-called arterial embolism refers to the emboli from the heart, proximal arterial wall, or other sources that rush into and embolize the smaller diameter branch arteries at the distal end with the arterial blood flow, and then cause the lack of blood supply organs or limbs of the arteries. Blood necrosis is more common in the lower extremities, and severe cases will eventually lead to amputation. So this disease can be big or small. If it is not handled properly, it will be more serious. Let’s learn more about it below!

Symptoms:

First:  most patients with sports embolism complain of severe pain in the affected limb. The location of the pain mainly depends on the location of the embolization. Generally, it is the pain of the affected limb in the far plane of acute arterial embolism, and the pain is aggravated during activity.

Second: Also, because the nerve tissue is quite sensitive to ischemia, sensory and motor disturbances of the affected limb occur in the early stage of arterial embolism. It is manifested as a sock-shaped sensory loss area at the distal end of the affected limb, a hypoesthesia area at the proximal end, and a hyperesthesia area at the proximal end. The level of the hypoesthesia area is lower than the level of arterial embolism.

Third: Since arterial embolism can be secondary to thrombosis, heparin and other anticoagulant therapy can be used in the early stage of the disease to prevent thrombosis from aggravating the disease. Antiplatelet therapy inhibits platelet adhesion, aggregation and release, and also relieves vasospasm.

Precautions:

Arterial embolism is a disease that can easily get worse if not taken care of. If the arterial embolism is in the early stage, the treatment effect and time are very simple, but it becomes more and more difficult in the later stage.
